Road projects set to begin on Monday, April 22 will result in a detour on Boyer Road in Mt. Pleasant Township and lane restrictions on Route 711 in the Donegal and Stahlstown areas, according to PennDOT.
Boyer Road is scheduled to close at 7 a.m. Monday between Hecla Road and Mount Pleasant-Calumet Road (Route 981).
That will allow crews from Walsh Construction Co. to overlay existing asphalt on the road.
A detour, using Hecla Road and Route 981, is expected to be in place through mid-May.
The work is part of the $55.2 million Laurel Valley Transportation Improvement Project, which is meant to upgrade the Route 981 corridor between the intersection of Route 819 in Mount Pleasant Township and Arnold Palmer Regional Airport in Unity.
The southernmost section of the project, between Route 819 and a point just south of the Mt. Pleasant Township village of Calumet, is slated for completion in September.
Alternating single-lane restrictions are planned between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m weekdays, through early May, on Route 711 from Route 31 in Donegal Township north to Fort Hood Road in Cook Township.
Tresco Paving Corp. will be milling and resurfacing the section of road as part of a $10.6 million project that will make surface improvements on several state routes in Westmoreland County.
