Rolling closures on Interstate 70 eastbound are scheduled for Tuesday and Wednesday as road work continues between the Arnold City and Smithton exits.

PennDOT announced there will be single-lane restrictions and 15-minute rolling closures in Rostraver between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. both days. The work is weather-dependent.

Crews will be resetting barriers and painting lines in preparation for the reconstructed Interstate 70 eastbound lanes to open between Exits 44 and 49. The work is part of the $120.6 million project that replaced the Route 51 and Interstate 70 interchange with a “diverging diamond” and reconstructed parts of both highways. That new interchange fully opened in November.

Work on the project is expected to be completed in 2026, according to PennDOT.
