A Rostraver man was acquitted Wednesday by a Westmoreland County jury of sex assault charges.

Jurors found Robert Taylor Parks IV, 24, not guilty of aggravated indecent assault of a child, aggravated indecent assault of a person younger than 13 and indecent assault.

The jury deliberated for nearly five hours Tuesday after closing arguments and then another four and a half hours Wednesday morning before returning the verdict.

Parks had been accused of sexually assaulting a 7-year-old girl at least five times dating back to 2015. He was arrested in December 2020 after the accuser, now a teenage girl, told a therapist that she had been improperly touched as a child when Parks was 17.

Parks’ attorney told jurors during opening statement Monday that he maintained his innocence.
