The Rotary Club of Greensburg this year awarded $11,500 in scholarships to 12 local students.

The club has two scholarships that are awarded every year.

The Kenneth P. Rutter Scholarship is named for a former minister and Rotary member who died in 2005. It is awarded to students with a strong interest in community service, with a preference for those pursuing a career in Christian ministry. The Career Assistance Awards program is based on need, academic performance and extracurricular activities.

These scholarships are funded through Rotary’s annual golf outing and blood drives.
