The Rotary International motto is “Service Above Self.”

So it only makes sense that members of the Murrysville-Export Rotary Club are doing what they can to help others in the community.

Club members on April 17 delivered lunch to staff at Redstone Highlands in Murrysville, “to show appreciation for the work they continue to do during these difficult times,” club secretary Lane Neff said.

Club members have been meeting via the Zoom platform, Neff said, to find ways to help out during the coronavirus pandemic.

Fundraisers have been canceled, and the club’s major annual fundraiser, “Night at the Races,” is rescheduled for Oct. 16.

But the club is keeping busy, and organizing lunch delivery at Redstone is just one of the ways.

“Some of the residents came to their balconies as the food was delivered, and the Rotary members gathered to just say ‘hi’ to each other and wave to everyone,” Neff said.
