Route 119 southbound reopens in East Huntingdon following fatal crash
The southbound lanes of Route 119 at Route 819 in East Huntingdon reopened just after 9 p.m., following a fatal crash involving a vehicle and pedestrian late Tuesday afternoon.
The crash was reported just after 3:45 p.m., according to a Westmoreland County 911 supervisor.
The Westmoreland County Coroner’s Office has been called to the scene, Coroner Kenneth Bacha said.
The area around the 119/819 intersection, along East Huntingdon’s eastern border, has been a trouble spot for crashes, with 28 crashes occurring in 2019, according to PennDOT statistics.
More than 20 of those crashes involved at least one injury.
