Saint Vincent Summer Theatre gala returning after 3-year hiatus
After a three-year hiatus, the Saint Vincent Summer Theatre Gala is returning as a forerunner of the theater’s 53rd season. The event will begin at 6 p.m. March 31 in the Fred M. Rogers Center on the Saint Vincent College campus in Unity.
The theater hosted a shortened season of two productions in 2022, after being shut down for two years during the pandemic.
The gala, previously held just prior to the season opener, will feature the announcement of this year’s performance schedule and the first opportunity for patrons to purchase season tickets. It also will include a sit-down dinner, silent auction and program of Broadway selections and stories by performers John Cudia and Kathy Voytko.
Cudia’s Broadway credits include “Les Miserables” and “Phantom of the Opera.” A Johnstown native, Voytko also is a veteran of Broadway and national tours including “Evita” and “Phantom of the Opera.”
“We’re so excited to bring back the gala this year,” said Greggory Brandt, SVST producing artistic director and assistant theater professor at the college. “This is such an important event for Summer Theatre and the additional fine arts productions at Saint Vincent.”
The gala is the theater’s signature fundraising event and supports additional performing arts opportunities at the college.
A ticket is $150 for the cocktail-attire event. To purchase, call 724-805-2265 or email aubrey.cintron@stvincent.edu by March 15.
