Salem man accused by police of pointing gun at man, threatening to kill him
A Salem man who is prohibited from having a firearm is accused by state police of pointing a gun at another person, according to court papers.
Bryan Michael Wallace, 31, who also has an address in Monroeville, posted $50,000 bail Monday through a bail bondsman after the Saturday incident.
Troopers were called to a Hoffman Heights Road home in Salem at 4:30 p.m. after a man there reported Wallace pointed a gun at him and threatened to kill him, according to court papers. The man was arguing with a woman about Wallace’s presence at the home and asked the suspect to leave, police said.
Wallace then pulled a handgun from his back pocket and threatened the man, according to court papers. The woman took the gun away and police said they found it in a garage and the magazine loaded with six bullets was in her pocket.
Troopers said a felony conviction in a 2009 case prohibited Wallace from possessing a firearm. He was charged with aggravated assault, a weapons violation, terroristic threats and related offenses. He did not have an attorney listed in online court records. A preliminary hearing is set for May 2.
Court records indicate Wallace pleaded guilty to a 2009 felony drug offense filed by state police in Westmoreland County and was sentenced to a jail term. He has been in trouble with the law multiple times in the years since. Wallace served a two to four year state prison sentence after police said he shot into the car of an ex-girlfriend’s boyfriend in Delmont in 2015 after making threats through Facebook. No one was in the car.
He is awaiting trial in an October sex assault case filed by state police. He initially was jailed without bail in that case but it was changed to $100,000 unsecured bond, allowing his release, at the time of his preliminary hearing a week after the charges were filed, according to online court records. He is accused of raping a woman after climbing through a window. Police said he had a handgun during the assault.
