State police took a Scottdale man into custody Sunday night following an hourslong standoff in Upper Tyrone.
State police responded about 7:45 p.m. Sunday to a home on Dexter Road for a report of a man who had discharged two rounds from a pistol during a verbal argument, according to police reports.
Police said a woman and her children were able to flee the house. When the man inside, 44-year-old Christopher J. Connors of Scottdale, refused to surrender, members of the Pennsylvania State Police Bureau of Emergency and Special Operations and Special Emergency Response Team were called to the scene.
After several hours, the teams breached the residence and took Connors into custody, police said. No injuries were reported.
Connors was arraigned and charged with two counts of terroristic threats, five counts of reckless endangering, simple assault, four counts of endangering the welfare of children and five counts of disorderly conduct.
A June 15 preliminary hearing is set in Judge Jason Cox’s Uniontown court.
