The second annual Seven Years’ War Symposium at Fort Ligonier will focus on the theme “The Soldier.”
Scheduled for April 13-14 at the Fort Ligonier Center for History Education, the symposium will include presentations by Maria Alessandra Bollettino, Alex Burns, Michael Galban, Fred Lucas and William Raffle.
Erica Nuckles, Fort Ligonier director of history and collections, will speak at 9 a.m. April 14 on “The Female Soldier: Eighteenth-Century Cross-Dressing Combatants.”
Often called the first world war, the Seven Years’ War involved many of the great European powers of the 18th century and included the French and Indian War — during which Fort Ligonier was an active British Army fort (1758-66).
Walk-in registrations are $95 for members, $110 for nonmembers.
