Severe thunderstorm warning issued for central Westmoreland County

A severe thunderstorm warning was issued Wednesday night for central Westmoreland County, according to the National Weather Service.

The warning, which includes Southwestern Indiana County, was issued shortly after 8:20 p.m. and is in effect until 9 p.m.

According to the warning, wind gusts could reach up to 60 mph and could result in damage to trees and power lines causing power outages.

Impacted areas in Westmoreland County include Greensburg, Latrobe, Derry and Ligonier.
