The Doughboy, a life size granite statue of World War I US Army soldier is one of the most recognizable veterans monuments in Westmoreland County. The statue is located on the traffic diamond along Main St. in Mt. Pleasant.

Mt. Pleasant Borough, like all of the small towns across the region, has seen a marked decrease in activity since Gov. Tom Wolf issued stay-at-home orders for Westmoreland County as part of the state’s efforts to slow the spread of the coronavirus.

The order mandates that people may leave their residence only to perform essential travel and various activities deemed to be essential.

Attached is a photo gallery of scenes from the borough on Monday.
