Route 119 traffic lanes will be restricted and left turns into the Burger King will be suspended beginning Tuesday when PennDOT begins replacement of the bridge (at left) that carries Route 119 over Zellers Run in Southwest Greensburg.

Replacement of a bridge on Route 119 will cause lane restrictions and will affect access to several businesses beginning Tuesday in Southwest Greensburg.

The lane restrictions will affect Route 119 traffic from Cribbs Street south to Huff Avenue, according to PennDOT. The restrictions will be in place from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. weekdays through July 10 and then will be in effect around the clock for a little more than a month.

Traffic impacts are expected to continue through Oct. 10 as crews replace the bridge over Zellers Run with a concrete box culvert and rebuild the road.

During the project, PennDOT will close the left-turn lane for southbound traffic headed from Route 119 to the Burger King and McDonald’s restaurants and a mini-storage facility. The Knights Inn hotel and several business offices are located behind the eateries, along a private road that crosses Jacks Run.

Southbound traffic will be directed to turn left at Huff and then turn north onto the private drive, just after the Dunkin restaurant, to reach the other restaurants and businesses.

Motorists headed north on Route 119 or exiting from Route 30 eastbound will have normal access to the businesses.
