State officials: 2 more coronavirus cases in Westmoreland, no new deaths
Westmoreland County on Monday reported two new covid-19 cases, bringing the total number of coronavirus cases to 461, according to Pennsylvania health officials.
No new deaths from the virus were reported. State officials continued to report 38 deaths in Westmoreland, while county coroner Kenneth Bacha reports 32 deaths as of May 7. Bacha’s website states it is updating its figures only when a new case is reported to his office.
Westmoreland is one of the counties that shifted into the green phase of Gov. Tom Wolf’s phased reopening plan on Friday. All of the state’s 67 counties are in the yellow or green phase of reopening.
State officials on Monday reported 10 more covid-19 deaths and 351 additional cases, bringing the state’s total number of cases to 75,943.
A total of 5,953 people have died from the virus. More than 451,000 people have tested negative.
