Pennsylvania State Police are investigating the theft of credit cards from a wallet at a Smithton church.

The theft was reported March 10, when a man discovered his credit cards were missing after he returned from taking part in the Sunday service at Hope Memorial Lutheran Church in Smithton, police said.

“(The victim) was a lay worship leader who was there that morning,” said Pastor Becky Dittenhafer. “It was kind of a wake-up call for us.”

State police said the credit cards were used at Jack’s Supermarket and another business in Smithton.

Anyone with information is asked to call 724-929-6262.
