State police are trying to identify a man who they believe was involved in a string of burglaries in St. Clair.

The burglaries, at businesses and a church, spanned May 26 to June 8. Troopers released surveillance images of the suspect this week.

Cash was taken from Stiles Hardware and Stiles Creamery on Van Horn Street, police said. Additionally, merchandise and copper wire was taken from the hardware store.

From Holy Family Church on Bridge Street, police said the suspect took a gold chalice, keys and audio equipment. Police said they found a large pipe wrench and hammer they believe were used in two of the break-ins.

Anyone with information on the person’s identity can contact state police Greensburg at 724-832-3288 or PSP Tips at 1-800-472-8477. Tips can be submitted online.
