Westmoreland County gained 11 covid-19 cases since Saturday’s numbers were released, state health officials said Saturday.

Forty-one cases are confirmed in Westmoreland, according to the latest figures, up from 30 on Friday. There have been no deaths related to the virus in the county.

In addition, Gov. Tom Wolf issued a stay-at-home order for the county. It mirrors similar orders issued for 18 other counties, including neighboring Allegheny County, where an additional 61 cases were reported from Friday to Saturday.

Statewide, 2,751 cases of covid-19 have been confirmed. More than 25,250 people have tested negative to date.

The state health department also reported 12 new deaths among positive cases, bringing the statewide total to 34.

“Our notable increase in cases over the past week indicate we need everyone to take covid-19 seriously,” Secretary of Health Dr. Rachel Levine said. “Pennsylvanians have a very important job right now: stay calm, stay home and stay safe. We have seen case counts continue to increase and the best way to prevent the spread of covid-19 is to stay home.”
