Students at five Westmoreland County high schools are hoping the snow plows they painted will win PennDOT’s annual Paint the Plow contest.

Voting is open online for 10 plows in District 12 that followed the theme “seat belts are always in season.” The plows were painted by students at Albert Gallatin, Fayette Career and Technology Institute, Greater Latrobe, Greensburg Central Catholic, Kiski Area, Laurel Highlands, Penn-Trafford, West Greene and Yough.

Votes are being accepted at penndot.pa.gov/painttheplow. The photo that gets the most votes through Jan. 15 will be deemed “Fan Favorite” for that PennDOT district. Each blade is eligible to win the “Judges’ Pick.”

Winners will be announced during Winter Driving Safety Awareness Week Jan. 21-27.
