Survey to gauge impact of coronavirus on Greensburg businesses
The Greensburg Community Development Corporation is conducting an anonymous survey of city business owners to learn more about how they’ve been affected by the coronavirus shutdown.
“We know they have been negatively impacted, but we want to see how Greensburg compares to the rest of the country,” said corporation Executive Director Ashley Kertes.
About 60 businesses have responded so far. Virtually all of them lost revenue, and more than 60% have furloughed staff, according to Kertes. Many have reported difficulty applying for government assistance.
The corporation plans to release the full results next week.
The results could help the corporation figure out how to assist businesses through grant applications and other means, Kertes said.
“All the work that’s gone into bringing our city back after years of decline and empty storefronts will mean nothing if our small businesses don’t survive,” she said.
The survey is available at the Think Greensburg Facebook page.
