Suspect arrested in connection with North Huntingdon woman's fatal shooting
Allegheny County sheriffs apprehended an Arlington Heights man on Tuesday who is suspected in the fatal shooting of a North Huntingdon woman in early December.
Jerrel Ingram, 32, was wanted on an arrest warrant for his alleged involvement in a Dec. 5 shoot-out outside the True Diamonds Night Club, which took the life of 22-year-old Madison Gilroy of North Huntingdon.
Ingram had recently been banned from the club by security, county officials said.
Sheriff’s deputies learned that Ingram was staying at an apartment in the Mon View Heights development in West Mifflin. After a brief search, Ingram appeared from the second floor and was taken into custody without incident, police said.
On the night of the shooting, detectives said Ingram drove up to the front door of the club and began arguing with security.
As he drove away, police said he fired multiple rounds toward club security, hitting one security officer in the leg. A second security officer returned fire in Ingram’s direction.
Ingram was transported to the Allegheny County Police Homicide Unit for questioning, and is awaiting arraignment on charges of criminal homicide, criminal attempt, aggravated assault and additional weapons charges, filed in early December following the fatal shooting.
