Tywone McClain Jr. is led into the Greensburg police station on Wednesday.

A Greensburg man accused of a convenience store robbery was arrested Wednesday, according to police.

Tywone McClain Jr., 21, was arrested in Duquesne in connection with the robbery at Sheetz on Harvey Avenue, said Greensburg Police Detective Sgt. John Swank.

McClain was arraigned Wednesday afternoon and lodged in the Westmoreland County Prison without bond. District Judge Chris Flanigan said she denied bond because McClain is a danger to the community and has a history of robbery offenses, according to online court records.

Greensburg police charged McClain and Jerome Garrett, 19, of Greensburg, in connection with the Jan. 30 robbery. Police said four men entered the store around 6:15 p.m. McClain allegedly demanded money from the cashier, saying he had a gun and would shoot if he was not given the cash.

Police said he did not show a weapon. Garrett took cash and the pair fled, according to police. Garrett was arrested the next day and remains in the Westmoreland County Prison in lieu of $100,000 bond.

Garrett and McClain are charged with robbery, theft, receiving stolen property and conspiracy. The two other men who were in the store were not charged.

Police have been looking for McClain for the past week. Investigators said McClain is known to frequent the New Kensington area.

He was on parole for a 2018 robbery in Arnold, according to online court records. He was sentenced in May to 11 months and 15 days to 23 months in the county jail.

He did not have an attorney listed in the new case. Preliminary hearings for both suspects are set for Feb. 13.
