The Westmoreland Museum of American Art in Greensburg is planning a Virtual Pride Week Celebration July 27-31.

The Westmoreland Museum of American Art in Greensburg is planning Virtual Pride Week Celebration programs, streaming on its Facebook page July 27-31.

“Each day we will highlight the talents of LGBTQIAP+ artists (and) performers, with fun and creative programs,” the museum says. All events are free.

Virtual Pride Celebration Week programs include:

• Drag Queen Make-Up Tutorial with Phoenix Fatale, 7 p.m. July 27 — There’s more to drag queen makeup than meets the eye, and it’s an art that needs impressive skills. Find out more about the art of drag queen makeup.

• Drag Queen Performances, throughout the day, July 28 — Drag performance is a powerful art form that has became increasingly accepted, and now celebrated, thanks to the activism of those in the LGBTQIAP+ community.

• Screening of “Stonewall, Paving the Way to Gay Pride,” 7 p.m. July 28 — Every year in June, the Gay Pride parade is a wild party. It hasn’t always been like this. While 2020 marks its 51th anniversary, it was originally the first time gays and lesbians walked the streets in New York, claiming publicly to be out, and this procession was intended to commemorate the Stonewall riots that had occurred a year earlier.

• Drag Queen Bingo, 7 p.m. July 29 — Join in for a night of laughter and excitement at drag queen bingo hosted by Alora Chateaux.

• Sketch Comedy Set, 5 p.m. July 30 — Matty Malloy will perform.

• Drag Queen Art Critique, 7 p.m. July 30 — Experience The Westmoreland’s collection like never before with Alora Chateaux and Tootsie Snyder as they spill the tea on some of the museum’s most esteemed artworks.

• Musical Performance, 7 p.m. July 31 — Experience the infectious melodies and high-octane spectacle of dance-pop artist Bryce Bowyn, followed by a live Q&A session.

Virtual Pride Celebration Week is presented in partnership with PFLAG Greensburg, The Westmoreland LGBTQ Interfaith Network and the Keystone Pride and Equality Coalition and is sponsored by First Energy Foundation.
