Nine candidates for Norwin school board will discuss issues and field questions from voters in a town hall meeting April 26 at Norwin High School.
Voters in the primary will choose four candidates for the school board. Two are incumbents — Brian Carlton and Raymond Kocak — while newcomers are Christine Baverso, Robert Bunovich, Alex Detshelt, Michael LeRoy, Dawn Lewandowski, Carrie McConnell Muniz and Dana Barvinchak Williams. All are cross-filed and seeking four-year terms.
Westmoreland County Judge Meagan Bilik-Defazio will moderate the event from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the high school auditorium, 251 McMahon Drive, North Huntingdon.
Registration is required and is first-come, first-served. Because of the Wolf administration’s restrictions on events, only 180 persons will be permitted to attend. Social distancing and masks will be required.
Those interested in registering can go to the Norwin Town Hall Committee Facebook page. A link is available to submit a question.
The meeting will be livestreamed on the Norwin School District’s YouTube page.
Norwin Town Hall Committee, a nonpartisan group not affiliated with Norwin School District, is sponsoring the event.
