Trafford American Legion Post 331 is preparing to serve a Thanksgiving Day dinner for residents in the community who may not have anywhere to go for a meal on the holiday.

The dinner is set for 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday at 216 Cavitt Ave., Trafford, and will include turkey, mashed potatoes, vegetables and pumpkin pie.

“It’s the whole spread,” said Carly Martin, vice president of the Trafford Legion Auxiliary. She noted the meal is a joint effort by members of the Legion post and its various affiliated groups — including the auxiliary, the Legion Riders and the Sons of the Legion.

Last year about 45 people attended the annual feast, but there is room for more, Martin said.

Those planning to attend may sign up in advance at the Legion post, but it’s not required.

While the dinner is free to the public, donations will be accepted, she said.
