A Trafford man is accused by police of attacking three people on Third Street in the borough Thursday morning, according to court papers.

Alfred H. Tournay III, 53, is charged with aggravated assault, burglary, criminal mischief, terroristic threats, disorderly conduct and harassment.

Police were called to Third Street at 7 a.m. for a reported domestic incidents. Police say Tournay walked into a sleeping woman’s bedroom and began screaming and throwing things at her, according to court papers.

As the woman ran out of the house, Tournay, the report says, continued to throw things at her before tossing her to the ground outside. She was hospitalized for treatment of facial cuts.

Police say Tournay then ran across the street, yelling at a female neighbor who was starting a car. She fled into her house, but Tournay kicked in the door and punched her in the face, according to court papers.

Police say he then grabbed a cane from the woman’s husband and beat him in the head, arm and chest with it. Both were hurt and checked out by ambulance workers.

Authorities said there was damage at both homes from the attacks. Tournay was arraigned Thursday and is being held in the Westmoreland County Prison in lieu of $150,000 bond.

He did not have an attorney listed in online court records. A Dec. 29 preliminary hearing is set.

Tournay was sentenced in 2018 to serve six months on probation for terroristic threats and harassment charges filed in a 2011 incident by Ingram police, according to court records. He was ordered to complete a batterers’ intervention program. A stalking charge was withdrawn as part of a plea agreement.
