A state police fugitive task force learned a man wanted for skipping court hearings was hiding out in a Blairsville apartment March 2, where they descended and found him atop “a second-story roof walkway on the roof and looking to escape by climbing a brick wall,” Trooper Stephen Limani said.

After spotting what they believed to be contraband inside the residence on West Iron Alley, police obtained a search warrant and discovered a stash of what they reported to be 55 bricks of heroin along with 6 grams of cocaine, 8 ounces of methamphetamine and 22 grams of marijuana plus $9,420 in cash, according to court documents.

Brian S. Davenport Jr., 32, of Blairsville was charged with drug possession and delivery charges and ordered held on $100,000 bond in the Indiana County Jail. He was wanted on outstanding drug-related complaints and a charge of illegally possessing a firearm, according to court dockets.

Davenport also is on probation after pleading guilty to a 2016 burglary in Derry Township, Westmoreland County.

During a search of Davenport’s pockets after he was taken into custody, troopers seized six stamp bags of suspected heroin labelled “Venom,” a silver container containing cocaine and a syringe, Limani said.

The task force also arrested 10 others wanted on warrants or for skipping scheduled hearings during a fugitive warrant detail conducted last week by state police in Troop A.

Among those arrested during the sweep were: Victor M. McCurdy, 34, of New Florence for possession of drug paraphernalia; Stacy Hoar, 46, of Scottdale for burglary; Douglas Blystone, 36, of Blairsville for driving under the influence of alcohol in Bell Township; Adam Flamm, 40, of Pittsburgh for a theft in Derry Township; and Andrew Orr, 41, of Bolivar on drug possession charges.

Also arrested were Valerie R. Price, 29, of Youngwood for aggravated assault, public drunkenness and resisting arrest in Greensburg; Dallas Heatherington, 47, of Greensburg for DUI in Hempfield; Joseph Golack, 55, of Herminie for criminal mischief in Sewickley Township; Gregory Frye, 47, of Latrobe for DUI in Mt. Pleasant Township; and Joshawa Nuttall, 36, of Salem on DUI and related charges.
