2 more coronavirus-related deaths reported at Westmoreland Manor
Westmoreland officials said Thursday that two more residents at the county-owned nursing home died from complications of coronavirus.
A total of five Westmoreland Manor residents have now died after contracting the virus since the start of the outbreak last month at the 408-bed Hempfield facility.
Since mid-September, 117 residents and 34 staffers have contracted coronavirus. County leaders said no new infections were reported Thursday.
Four Manor residents remain hospitalized.
The coronavirus has impacted several county buildings over the last month.
An outbreak discovered last week at the Westmoreland County Prison identified 36 inmates and four guards with coronavirus. County officials this week said two public safety employees at the 911 dispatch center had become infected.
No additional cases among jail inmates and staff or 911 employees were reported Thursday.
