Local poet Lorence King of Greensburg reads a piece of original poetry titled “Are We Free?” to a crowd gathered for Voice of Westmoreland’s Unity Vigil event Wednesday, June 17, 2020, at St. Clair Park in Greensburg. King’s poem focused on the struggles of racism and class divide, with hope for a better society. Organizers planned the gathering as a public space for voices to be heard and to create peace and connection within the community. Other speakers included Pennsylvania State Trooper Aaron Allen (pictured at bottom) and Bishop Derrick Johnson of New Creation Family Worship Center.
