Classes will be held online Tuesday for students at Greensburg Salem Middle School as the Greensburg school recovers from a water break that closed the building Monday and canceled classes.

All other district schools were operating normally.

The water break involved a problem with a water fountain on the school’s second floor and did not affect any other neighboring properties, according to Tom Bell, Greensburg fire chief and public works director.

Water damage was contained to the first floor of the administration wing of the middle school building and two second-floor classrooms above the administrative offices, Superintendent Ken Bissell said.

He said staff will report to work at the building Tuesday.

“We hope to have everyone back in the building on Wednesday,” he said.
