The Democrat slate of candidates dubbed “We aRe Norwin” took the lead in a race for five seats on the Norwin School Board, according to unofficial vote totals.

With 100% of precincts reporting Tuesday, Tim Kotch Sr. led with 11.2%, and Nina Totin came in second with 10.7%. Heath Shrum, Matt Thomas and Bill Bojalad followed with 10.7%, 10.5%, and 10.3%.

Five Republican candidates and five Democratic candidates were running on competing slates in the race.

Robert Wayman, the only incumbent running for reelection, was joined by Lynda Funk, Tammy Moreno, Tom Ryan and Dale Weisensee on the Republican ticket under the “Norwin4Change” slate.

Wayman came in last place with 8.8%. Funk received 9.8%, Ryan received 9.5%, Moreno received 9.5% and Weisensee received 9.1%.

The remaining three incumbents — Darlene Ciocca, William Essay and Patrick Lynn — did not run for reelection.
