One person had to be rescued from a residential house fire Saturday in Rostraver, according to a Westmoreland County 911 dispatching supervisor.

The working fire was reported at 2:55 p.m. at 623 Sixth Ave., the dispatcher reported.

Firefighters from Rostraver Central were among several fire departments called to assist the township’s Webster Volunteer Fire Department at the scene. Rostraver Central said on its Facebook page that the fire originated in a bedroom of the two-story house.

The victim was originally treated at the scene by paramedics from Rostraver West Newton Emergency Services and then taken to Rostraver Airport, where they were airlifted to a Pittsburgh hospital, according to officials.

Firefighters were still on the scene late Saturday afternoon. No further information was released.
