A West Newton woman will serve up to two years in prison for setting fire to her boyfriend’s pickup truck.

Marian Warman, 19, pleaded guilty Wednesday to charges of arson, terroristic threats and simple assault in connection with the April 6 incident.

Police said Warman and Brian L. Palamara argued at a nearby fast-food restaurant, and that she repeatedly hit him in the face and arms and threatened to torch his truck.

According to court records, Warman told police when she returned to Palamara’s home she poured gasoline in the bed of his truck, lit paper on fire and tossed it into the bed of the truck.

Police said the fire destroyed the truck and endangered an occupied home. Flames from the fire burned through overhead power lines, which fell to the ground and put firefighters at risk, according to court records.

Judge Christopher Feliciani sentenced Warman to serve 1-2 years in prison. She will be eligible to participate in a Department of Corrections boot camp program.
