Westmoreland Cleanways to close for electrical work
Westmoreland Cleanways and Recycling Center in Pleasant Unity will be closed March 18 and 19 so that workers can update the electrical service, the agency said.
If the project proceeds as anticipated, the recycling center will be open on Friday, said Michael Skapura, executive director of Westmoreland Cleanways.
The center’s phone system will be unavailable during the project, Skapura said.
The electrical system upgrade is necessary to provide additional power for the a horizontal baler that will be used to bale plastic containers that are being recycled, said Natalie Reese, assistant executive director for the recycling center.
