Westmoreland County commissioners on Thursday issued a proclamation honoring the life of Hempfield’s Terry Ranieri.

Ranieri, 64, a 1975 graduate of Hempfield High School, died from cancer on Aug. 22.

Commissioners Gina Cerilli, Ted Kopas and Charles Anderson presented the proclamation to Ranieri’s brothers Tony and Eddy and their sister, Linda DeFloria, during a brief presentation at the courthouse in Greensburg.

The proclamation called for the celebration of Ranieri’s life and memory, honored his dedication to the Hempfield community and outpouring of support.

“Terry never met anyone he didn’t like. The only time he got upset was when the Steelers, Penguins or Pirates lost,” according to the proclamation, which celebrated Ranieri’s lasting memory and Hempfield Area High School’s No. 1 super fan.
