Westmoreland County commissioners’ monthly voting meeting will be more public than usual.

The Nov. 18 voting session, where commissioners are expected to unveil a preliminary 2022 budget, will be held in the courthouse lobby at 10 a.m.

Commissioners typically convene public sessions in the large meeting room just off the building’s lobby but the upcoming session had to be relocated to accommodate a vote recount in the statewide Commonwealth Court judicial race. Election officials will use the meeting room to recount the more than 88,000 votes cast in the county earlier this month.

The recount will begin Wednesday and is expected to take up to three days to complete.

A public meeting on Tuesday morning to review agenda items in advance of Thursday’s voting session will be held in a smaller conference room near the commissioners’ offices.
