Sales
• Take home a piece of history from the next Antiques & Collectibles Sale held outdoors at Historic Hanna’s Town Aug. 9.
The market is open from 7:30 a.m. through early afternoon, although, many vendors are set up by 1 p.m. Saturday and sell that afternoon. There is parking on site; admission is $3 per car. Parking revenues are divided equally between the Salem Township Volunteer Fire Dept. No. 2 (Forbes Road) and the Westmoreland Historical Society.
Covid-19 guidelines are in place. Attendees are expected to wear masks and social distance. One-way pedestrian traffic is identified at the end of each road, and hand sanitizer is located in all portable toilets and at the historical society tent.
Vendors of antiques and collectible items are welcome to set up for a fee of $35.
• The West Newton Library will be holding an outside book sale in the fall.
Until then, the library is offering a $5, fill a bag sale at the library at 124 N. Water St. — Monday and Thursday, 12-5 p.m.; Wednesday, 12-8 p.m. and Saturday, 10 a.m.-2 p.m. The library also has a daily book sale inside Gary’s Chuckwagon restaurant, 109 S. Second St., West Newton. Masks are mandatory.
Picnic
Sages’s Army Community Picnic is set 1-7 p.m. Aug. 9
Speakers and Narcan training begins at 2:30 p.m. The event will be held in pavilion 13 at Mammoth Park in Mt. Pleasant Township.
Attendees are asked to wear a face covering and distance when possible.
Meetings
Women’s Business Network is an award-winning business association that supports the success and growth of women in business.
The Laurel Highlands chapter meets on the first and third Thursday of each month from 8-9:45 a.m. This month’s meetings will take place on Aug. 6 and Aug. 20, with meetings being held virtually until further notice. For more information, contact chapter representative, Rita Graham at 724-963-5683.
