The top Westmoreland County high school ranked 63rd among public schools in Pennsylvania, according to new rankings released by U.S. News & World Report. The magazine did not provide specific rankings for schools listed from 516-673.

Rankings are based on college readiness, math and reading proficiency, math and reading performance, underserved student performance, college curriculum breadth and graduation rate.

County rankings are followed by the state rank and overall score.

2. Norwin (No. 103; 84.38)

3. Ligonier Valley (No. 129; 81.27)

4. Southmoreland (No. 130; 81.23)

5. Greater Latrobe (No. 158; 77.82)

6. Hempfield Area (No. 183; 73.27)

7. Penn Trafford (No. 253; 64.06)

8. Belle Vernon Area (No. 282; 59.67)

9. Kiski Area (No. 372; 47.11)

10. Greensburg Salem (No. 386; 45.07)

11. Mt. Pleasant (No. 411; 41.62)

12. Burrell (No. 426; 39.4)

13. Yough (No. 436; 37.82)

14. Derry Area (No. 453; 35.17)
