Westmoreland County adds 1 new covid-19 death, 14 new cases

Westmoreland County has 14 new coronavirus cases and one new death Tuesday, according to the Pennsylvania Department of Health.

New reported cases all are confirmed, bringing the county’s covid-19 case total to 1,327.

The county started the month with 38 deaths from coronavirus and has not seen more than one new death reported in daily figures in July. The death total is now 44.

Westmoreland County’s lowest reported case count of July came Monday with 11 new cases. The highest number of cases this month came July 2 when 36 new coronavirus cases were reported.

The county has an overall positive rate of 4.77% in coronavirus testing with 27,801 negative tests.
