Westmoreland County adds 22 new coronavirus cases

Westmoreland County saw 22 new cases of covid-19 added to its total Thursday, the Pennsylvania Department of Health reported.

The county’s total cases are now 2,299 with 2,153 confirmed and 146 probable since the first cases were reported in March.

For the month of September, 462 new cases were reported in the county, its second-highest monthly total behind July which had 763 cases.

No additional deaths were reported, leaving the death toll at 56. In September, there were seven deaths reported in Westmoreland County.

According to the state, 11 Westmoreland County residents are hospitalized for covid-19, with one patient on a ventilator.
