Westmoreland County adds 3 new covid-19 cases, no new deaths
Westmoreland County on Sunday reported three additional covid-19 cases, increasing the total number of cases to 490, according to state health officials.
No new deaths from the virus were reported by the state or county coroner. The state continues to report 38 coronavirus-related deaths. Westmoreland County Coroner Ken Bacha continues to report 32 deaths. Bacha’s data hasn’t been updated since May 7. A note on the coroner’s website said the information will only be updated when a new case is reported to the office.
Of the 32 covid-19 related deaths reported by Bacha, 25 were confirmed by positive testing. Seven were presumed by symptoms and weren’t tested.
Those who died include 15 men and 17 women. The oldest was 109 and the youngest was 61, with the average age being 83, according to Bacha. All were white.
Westmoreland County moved to the green phase of Gov. Tom Wolf’s phased re-opening plan on June 5. Close to 12,600 county residents have tested negative for the virus.
