Westmoreland County reports 20 new coronavirus cases

Westmoreland County on Saturday reported 20 new covid-19 cases and no additional deaths, according to the Pennsylvania Department of Health.

Of the total number of covid-19 cases in the county, 587 are confirmed and 20 are probable, state health officials said.

The countywide case total is now 607, with 38 deaths. There have been no reported coronavirus deaths in Westmoreland County since May 18.

More than 16,000 county residents have tested negative for the virus.

Statewide, there have been 84,991 recorded cases of coronavirus, and 6,603 deaths, according to the Pennsylvania Department of Health.

Westmoreland County moved to the green phase of Gov. Tom Wolf’s phased reopening plan June 5.
