Westmoreland County on Friday reported 62 more cases of the coronavirus, dropping the seven-day average to 79.

That’s the lowest the average has been since early November.

The total reported cases in the county is 25,130, according to the Pennsylvania Department of Health.

Of the new cases, 29 are confirmed via 463 new PCR tests while 33 are listed as probable.

Health officials define a probable case as one in which a patient has a positive viral antigen test or covid symptoms with a “high-risk exposure” to someone who has been confirmed to have coronavirus.

The county reported nine new covid-related deaths, the highest daily report in more than two weeks. The total deaths are 626 since the pandemic began in March.

Westmoreland has 136 people hospitalized for covid-19 Friday as that number continues to trend downward. Of those, 12 are in intensive care units and nine are using ventilators. Of the 96 ventilators in the county, 22 are in use for all patients.

In the county, 82,289 people have tested negative for the coronavirus.
