Westmoreland County reports 82 new cases of coronavirus, 1 new death

Westmoreland County on Friday reported 82 new cases of covid-19.

The 7-day average in the county is 71 cases. The county total is now 4,899 cases since March with 4,234 of those confirmed.

There were 303 new tests reported and 43 confirmed cases so the daily test positive rate — the percentage of PCR tests that come back positive — is 14.19%.

The overall PCR test positivity rate in the county is 7.25%.

The county reported one new covid-related death. That brings the total to 115 since tracking began in March.

According to the state’s covid-19 dashboard, Westmoreland has 53 people hospitalized with covid-19 and five of those patients are on ventilators. The county has 88 total ventilators and 14 are in use for all patients.
