Westmoreland County marks another day of single digit new covid-19 cases

Westmoreland County has eight new coronavirus cases, according to the state Department of Health.

All of the new reported covid-19 cases in the county are confirmed and bring the case total to 1,748.

No new deaths were reported and the death total remains at 49, where it has remained for the seven days.

As of Tuesday morning, there were two covid-19 patients hospitalized in Westmoreland County. One patient needed ventilation.

In August, Westmoreland County has had new covid-19 cases in the single digits seven times thus far and twice in the past two days.

The most reported new coronavirus cases in Westmoreland County this month came Aug. 8 when 23 cases were reported.
