Westmoreland County detectives are investigating the death of a 71-year-old woman found Thursday afternoon in her St. Clair home, according to authorities.

The cause and manner of Alice I. Robson’s death is pending final autopsy results, Westmoreland County Coroner Tim Carson said. Toxicology results will not be available for several weeks, Carson said.

Police received a missing-person report involving the woman earlier in the week and began seeking her whereabouts, county District Attorney Nicole Ziccarelli said in a news release.

The victim’s husband, Lyle, told TribLive news partner WTAE that his wife’s body was found under the back porch of their home on the 200 block of Furnace Lane. Robson said he was told by police that Alice died of head injuries inflicted Monday night.

Police were back at the scene on Friday, WTAE reports.
