Westmoreland happenings: Blessing of animals, collectibles market, class reunion, more

• First Presbyterian Church of Belle Vernon, 501 Fayette Ave., will have a blessing of the animals service at 10 a.m. June 7 at the church. All pets are welcome. Donations of cash, pet food and pet supplies will be collected for Mon Valley Paws. Details: 724-929-7616.
Fundraisers
• A trash and treasure sale will be from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. June 7 at St. James Lutheran Church, 4329 Route 982, Youngstown. Food and baked goods will be available.
• Westmoreland Historical Society will host its an antiques and collectibles market June 8 at Historic Hanna’s Town, 809 Forbes Trail Road, Hempfield. Some vendors will be set up and selling on June 7 and the rest will be open from 7:30 a.m. until early afternoon June 8. Admission: $5 per car. A portion of parking revenues benefit the Forbes Road Volunteer Fire Department. The market will be open the second Sunday of each month through October. Music
• The Laurel Harmony Chorus, a chapter of Sweet Adelines International, is seeking new members. An open house will be from 7 to 9 p.m. June 12 at the group’s rehearsal location, Trinity United Church of Christ, 139 N. Main St., Greensburg. Use the side door of the lower level. Women of all ages, experience levels and vocal ranges welcome. There will be singing with guest participation, a question-and-answer session and refreshments. • Norwin Class of 1980 will have a reunion from 6 to 9:30 p.m. Aug. 16 at the Core Event Center, 100 Colony Drive, Irwin. Details: send an email with Norwin 1980 Reunion in the subject line to sandisoc@comcast.net or visit Norwin Class of ’80 on Facebook.
