Art
• Westmoreland Museum of American Art, 221 N. Main St., Greensburg, will host, “In Conversation: Curator Talk,” with Melissa Wolfe and Barbara Jones at 7 p.m. Oct. 28. The event is free, though registration is required. Registration: visit the events section at thewestmoreland.org
Blood drive
• White Valley AMVETS Auxiliary will host a community blood drive from 10 to 3 p.m. Oct. 30 in the post social hall, 2100 Carolina St., Export. Appointments recommended, but walk-ins welcome. Fundraisers
• Manor Lions Club will have an Election Day food drive Nov. 2 to support the Manor Food Pantry. Donations boxes will be placed at the polling station at the Manor Community Building. Monetary and non-perishable food donations welcome.
• Sewickley Township Public Library will have its annual Election Day soup, baked goods and book sale from 10 a.m. until sold out Nov. 2 at the library, 201 Highland Ave., Herminie. Menu: soups, stuffed cabbage, haluski, breads, cookies and pastries. Soup menu: stuffed pepper, ham and bean, beef vegetable, split pea, wedding and crème of cauliflower/potato. Cost: $8 per quart, $4 per pint.
• An Election Day luncheon will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Nov. 2 at West Newton First Church of God, 157 N. Second St. Menu: chili, chicken noodle soup, broccoli cheese soup, chicken salad sandwiches, ham barbeques, hot dogs with sauerkraut, potato and macaroni salad, pie and cake. Dine in or takeout. • A drive-thru turkey dinner will be served from 4 to 6 p.m. Nov. 4 at Union Presbyterian Church, 656 Route 380, Washington Township. Menu: turkey, stuffing, gravy, mashed potatoes, coleslaw, cranberry sauce, corn and pumpkin pie. Donations will be accepted. Drive around to the rear of the church.

• Delmont Public Library, 75 School St., is collecting new or gently-used hats, scarves and gloves in all sizes as part of the Hats and Gloves with Love Project sponsored by Feeding the Spirit of Greensburg. Place your donation into a gallon zip-lock bag and put it in the snowflake collection box inside the library by Nov. 6. Donation pickups are available by calling the library at 724-468-5329. • A Comedy Night to benefit the Coal and Coke Trail Chapter will be Nov. 6 at the Scottdale Fireman’s Club, 405 Porter Ave. Doors open at 6 p.m. Cost: $30, includes buffet dinner. There will be a basket auction, 50/50 raffle and cash bar. The show is recommended for those who are at least 21. •The Greensburg Art Center will host a shopping event, “The Art of Gifting” Nov. 6 through Dec. 22 at the center, 230 Todd School Road, Greensburg. Halloween events
• A free trunk-or-treat will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Oct. 30 in the parking lot of Derry First Methodist Church, 311 N. Ligonier St. Top three best decorated trunks will win a prize. Hot dogs, macaroni and cheese and hot chocolate will be served in the social hall and there will be candy, games and prizes. Everyone welcome. Details: 724-694-8333

Meetings

Veterans Day
• The J. William McCauley Jr. Funeral Home will sponsor a community Veterans Day service at 7 p.m. Nov. 11 at West Newton First Church of God, 157 N. Second St. Names of veterans from West Newton and the surrounding community who died between Nov. 1, 2018 and Oct. 31, 2021 will be announced and a family member will be invited to light a candle in their memory. Families who have not been contacted and would like their loved one included should contact the funeral home at 724-872-6699 by Nov. 4.
