Fundraisers

• Master Gardeners of Westmoreland County will have a plant sale 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the Donohoe Center, 218 Donohoe Road, Hempfield.

• A drive-thru diaper collection to benefit the Western Pennsylvania Diaper Bank will be held 10 a.m. to noon Saturday in the parking lot of Level Green Presbyterian Church, 105 Olive Drive, Trafford. All sizes are needed and monetary contributions are welcome. Details: 412-372-5370.

• West Newton First Church of God, 157 N. Second St., will host an Election Day lunch 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday at the church. Menu: soup, sandwiches, salad, desserts and drinks. Dine in or takeout. Delivery available to local businesses. Takeout orders: 724-872-7467.

• The Mission Group from West Newton First Church of God will sell American hoagies 2 to 7 p.m. Saturday at the West Newton Farm and Vendor Market Expo, 108 E. Main St. Cost: $9. Proceeds will help to pay for their July mission trip to New Mexico. Orders: 724-872-7427.

• St. Cecilia Church will have a burger bash from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the church pavilion, 220 St. Cecilia Road, Whitney, Unity. Dine in or takeout. Details: 724-423-3777.

• Trinity Methodist Church, 210 W. Fourth St., Greensburg, will have a spring craft show from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the church. The kitchen will be open. Details: 724-834-9395.

• A car wash fundraiser will be from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday in the parking lot of Greensburg Church of the Brethren, 554 Stanton St. Donations will be accepted to benefit the church Disciples Hands Ministry that provides food and basic necessities to those in need.

• Manor Lions Club will host a chicken barbeque from 11 a.m. until sold out Saturday in the parking lot of Roberts Roofing, Route 993, Manor. Menu: half chicken, applesauce, roll, cookie and drink, $10. Proceeds benefit Lions Club charities. Details: jrare4@comcast.net.

• An artisan market and craft show will be from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at the Hunker Community Building, 402 Constitution Ave. There will be a silent auction. Sponsored by the Hunker Civic Association.

• First Presbyterian Church of Belle Vernon, 501 Fayette St., will have a food and fellowship lunch from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday at the church. Donations will be accepted for the Rostraver/Belle Vernon food pantry. Details: 724-929-7616.

• An all-you-can-eat spaghetti dinner to benefit Bullskin Senior Center will be from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesdayat the center, 52 Medsger Road. Menu: spaghetti, one meatball, salad, bread and dessert. Cost: $10; children 5 to 12, $5; younger than 5, free; extra meatballs, $1.50.

• Manor Lions Club will collect nonperishable food and donations for the Manor Food Pantry on Election Day Tuesday. Collection bins will be located at the polling station at the Manor Community Room. Details: call or text, 724-787-3954.

• Community Revitalization of West Newton (CROWN) will sponsor a community yard sale from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. June 3 in the borough. • A golf outing to benefit Latrobe Area Hospital Charitable Foundation will be June 16 at Ligonier Country Club, 729 Fairway Lane, Ligonier Township. Check-in will begin at 8:30 a.m. and there will be a 10 a.m. shotgun start. Cost: $300 per player, includes breakfast, lunch, dinner with an open bar, golf and a gift. Spouses, guests and non-golfers are welcome to attend the dinner for $50 each. Library News

• Adams Memorial Library, Latrobe, will offer a free program, “The World War II Spies at the Horseshoe Curve in Altoona,” at 6 p.m. May 17 at the library, 1112 Ligonier St. Learn about Operation Pastorius from historian Ken Serfass. Reservations required: tinyurl.com/mr9fsany.

Meetings

• Rostraver Sportsmen and Conservation Association will meet at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the club, 539 Cedar Creek Road, Rostraver. Membership applications from men and women welcome. Details: 724-984-6611 or rostraversca.org.

• The Braddock Trail chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution will meet Saturday at the chapter house, 200 S. Church St., Mt. Pleasant. Lunch will be served at noon and the meeting will begin at 1 p.m. The memorial service for deceased members will be held.

Special Events

• As part of the 250th anniversary of Westmoreland County, Freeport Theatre Festival will present a dramatization of the Hanna’s Town Resolves May 20 in the tavern at Historic Hanna’s Town, 809 Forbes Trail Road, Hempfield. The Hanna’s Town Resolves was one of the first documents to challenge British authority before the Declaration of Independence. Performances will be at noon and 2 p.m. Tickets are free with general admission to the park. Cost: $10; $6 for students; free for Westmoreland Historical Society members, active members of the military and children 5 and younger, and include a guided tour, the exhibit gallery and use of the library.

• Penn State Extension Master Gardeners of Westmoreland County will sponsor a free walking tour of the demonstration gardens at the Ligonier Country Market and the wetlands Overlook Trail of the Loyalhanna Watershed Association May 18. Meet at 10 a.m. in the children’s garden of the demonstration garden, 6 W. Old Lincoln Highway, Ligonier. Wear comfortable walking shoes and bring binoculars.
