Submissions from nonprofit organizations for Briefly Speaking should be emailed to cpinto-smith@triblive.com. Include a complete address and daytime phone number. Submissions are due at least two weeks prior to the event. Each announcement is printed once; there is no fee.

Fundraisers

• A rummage sale will be July 27, 28 and 29 at St. Florian Parish, 4263 Route 981, United. Hours: 6 to 8 p.m. July 27, with an early bird sale; admission: $5; 8 a.m. to noon and 6 to 8 p.m. July 28; 8 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. July 29, half-price sale; noon to 2 p.m. July 29, $5 bag sale. There will be a bake sale and the kitchen will be open on July 28 and 29. Details: 724-261-9700.

• An indoor/outdoor Christmas in July craft and vendor show will be from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. July 29 at First Presbyterian Church of Belle Vernon, 501 Fayette Ave. The kitchen will be open. Details: 724-929-4616 or office@fpresbv.org.

• Latrobe Center for Active Adults will host a bingo fundraiser July 29 at the center, 15 Avenue C. Doors open at 11 a.m. and games will begin at noon. Cost: $20, includes lunch. There will be door prizes, a basket raffle and a 50/50. Details: Beth, 724-539-0237.

• Transfiguration of the Lord Parish will have a yard sale from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. July 29 at the church, 353 Bridgeport Road, Mt. Pleasant Township. Rain or shine.

• Jeannette Court 25 will sponsor a basket bingo July 29 at the Jeannette Masons, 301 S. Fourth St. Doors open at 11 a.m., lunch will be served at noon and bingo will be afterward. Cost: $15, includes lunch, bingo card, two chance tickets and a door prize. Tickets: Pat, 724-454-3483 and at the door.

• Herminie Center for Active Adults is accepting table reservations for an indoor/outdoor flea market set for 9 a.m. to noon Aug. 4 at the center, 101 Sewickley Ave., rear. Cost: $5. Reservations: 724-446-3282.

Library News

• Adams Memorial Library, 1112 Ligonier St., Latrobe, will offer a free in-person movie screening at 11 a.m. Aug. 5 at the library to celebrate the final day of summer reading. The event will be outdoors, weather permitting, and popcorn will be served. Bring your own beverage. Reservations required: 724-539-1972.

Reunion

• The 87th Keslar Reunion will be Aug. 13 at Mt. Joy Covenant Church of the Brethren pavilion, 494 E. Main St., Mt. Pleasant Township. A covered dish lunch will be at 1 p.m. Bring a covered dish to share and a bingo prize donation. There will be games, bingo and ice cream. Details: Edith, 412-558-8847 or keslarreunion.com.

Special events

• Greensburg Garden Center will have its annual monarch butterfly release Aug. 5 at the Lefevre Butterfly Garden at the center, 951 Old Salem Road. Nationally known butterfly expert Rick Mikula will present programs at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. Reservations required for butterflies: 724-837-0245.

• Community Revitalization of West Newton is collecting bubble wrap, plastic grocery bags and plastic water case wrap to earn a Trex bench. If 500 pounds are collected within six months, the group will receive a free bench. Drop-off bins are at Gary’s Gingerbread House Bakery on South Second Street or the West Newton Senior Center.
