History
• Baltzer Meyer Historical Society will sponsor an open house from noon to 4 p.m. April 27 at Harrold Hall, 642 Baltzer Meyer Pike, Hempfield. Speaker John Plischke will discuss wild mushrooms, and there will be tours and a basket raffle.

• A Seniors for Safe Driving class will be offered from 3 to 8 p.m. May 5 at Caldwell Memorial Library, 982 N Chestnut Street Ext., Derry. The class is PennDOT approved and for drivers who are at least 55 years old. Safe drivers can receive a 5% discount on auto insurance for three years. Cost: $17. • Community Revitalization of West Newton will sponsor a free touch-a-truck from noon to 2 p.m. May 3 in the parking lot of West Newton Elementary School, 1208 Vine St. Food will be sold.
